Reliable Gun |
|
Dec 07, 2008 - 6:46 PM - by Marc
|
I'd like to welcome our newest sponsor Reliable Gun in Vancouver.
Chances are if any of your older relatives hunted back in the good old days' they probably dealt with "Reliable Gun and Tackle"; Vancouver's oldest family owned hunting supply store.
Back in 1950, Jim Mathieson opened Reliable Gun and Tackle selling everything from guns to outboard motors. Jim would do anything to support the outdoor enthusiast. His son Dave joined his dad full time in 1959. Together they were committed to providing quality products and exceptional service. These efforts helped build long and trusting relationships.
In 1992 Shane Mathieson, son of Dave, joined his father in the venture.Since then Shane has become an experienced gunsmith. His precise craftsmanship has delighted many of B.C.'s finest gun collectors. In 2003 John, Shane's younger brother, joined the family at the store. John has been very eager at learning the ropes. New additions to Team Reliable are Josh, Herman, Colin and Randy. Herman is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. The store is located near the intersection of Fraser Street and Kingsway. Central from Richmond, Burnaby or North Vancouver. Come check us out or visit us online at www.reliablegun.com or give us a call. 604 874 4710 or toll free at 1 800 407 5224

2008 Christmas Rifle Giveaway |
|
Nov 15, 2008 - 9:48 AM - by Marc
|
This week I was contacted by Glenn from Grouse River Outfitters. From day one, he has wanted to get involved and help with fund raisers and supporting what’s become British Columbia’s largest and greatest online hunting community. Grouse River Outfitters has graciously donated this year’s Christmas raffle prize of up to $1000.00 in store merchandise. That means if you want a rifle, shotgun or something else, this gives you the opportunity to shop around their store and pick what you want.
Grouse River Outfitters would also like to offer a Christmas incentive to all HuntingBC members whereby they can use coupon code “hbcxmas” to take $10 off any online order of $150 or more from now through until December 25th. http://www.grouseriver.com/
To be eligible for the draw, you need to be a member of HuntingBC and a resident of Canada. If in 2008 you supported the site by buying a mug, hat, sticker, or what have you, I will put your name into the draw for each item you bought to support the site. So three stickers would get you three chances, etc.
Support Auctions will work on the basis that the person who donated the item or service will split the chances with the winner for every $5. So for example if the item goes for $50 then both the winner and the person who donated the item/service would get 5 chances each. I still have plenty of mule deer stickers available and a batch of mugs being made as we speak.... [Read More]

Wall Tent Giveaway! |
|
Jan 29, 2008 - 7:31 PM - by Marc
|
HuntingBC’s longest sponsors and supporter Perry & Jim from Deluxe Wall Tents www.deluxewalltents.com just contacted me and have donated a 10 x 12 x 5 Wall tent with internal frame to help raise funds for the website. This is an amazing donation and a lucky prize for one of our members.
So here is how it works. I’m in the process of getting another 500 website stickers made up with a mule deer this year. Every mule deer sticker sold gives you a chance at winning the tent. I’d like to see a minimum of 300 stickers sold before I pick the lucky winner. Perry, Jim and I would like to pick the lucky winner by August 2008 so that the tent can be used this fall for the hunting season! Let’s say the cut off time to receive funds for the stickers to be August 1st if we have the minimum 300 stickers sold( 500 would be awesome! ).
Only rule is you need to be a registered member and live in Canada to win!
For all your Wall Tents, Aluminium Frames, Wood Stoves, Tarps, Bed Rolls, and Canvas Game Bags needs, please contact our sponsor for prices or any questions you might have. Perry is also a member on the site if you've got any questions you might want to ask about his products.

I’ve surfed their site and there are some awesome opportunities at some great hunting, and seeing some great countryside. Guy Scott is updating pictures of this fall when he gets the opportunity.
